Growing up in Canada, I first became aware of David Suzuki through his fascinating educational program, The Nature Of Things. On a global scale he's an amazing voice for our environment and an inspiration to all who wish to take positive steps in our attitudes and behaviors in relation to ecology, sustainability, climate change and conservation. His foundation does truly significant work!
Eoin Finn was my first Yoga teacher and the person who truly made me fall in love with Yoga. He is inspiring, deep, fun, and funny. Check out Eoin's site to learn more about him, his classes, DVD's, workshops and trainings and learn more about his Blissology Project!
If you don't already know this amazing woman, prepare yourself to b e blown away with love and laughter! Christy Marsden is the owner of Yoga Blend, an incredible teacher, an awesome yogini and a dear friend. Her teaching translates the sometimes esoteric or complicated teachings of yoga into clear, concrete, specific instruction and action. Her ability to honor the traditions of yoga, while keeping things fresh, modern and practical is astounding.
I am so proud to call Yoga Blend my second home. Owner Christy Marsden has built a beautiful, inclusive, creative community at this Burbank studio! Check out the Yoga Blend website for details about classes and upcoming workshops!
I am a lover of all things food: shopping, cooking, eating and learning! As a vegan, I'm so excited by the multitude of fresh produce here in Southern California! It's a huge blessing to be able to access farmer's markets year round. Two of my favorite's are The Burbank Farmer's Market on Saturdays and The Hollywood Farmer's Market on Sundays. Check them out, and let your senses lead you! Truly a moveable feast for eyes, ears and palettes!
Sun Cafe in Studio City draws all kinds of people and palates, from raw vegans to staunch omnivores, because it is so incredible yummy! You can' t help but feel like you are glowing with an aura of health and well-being after having one of their amazing smoothies, savory pizzas, or tantalizing desserts. They also offer cooking classes every Saturday morning!
I am a long time devotee of Saje and their products, in fact I used to work at a Saje retail store when I was in college! Many of my regular students have grown to love these natural, healing blends and have their favorites! The most requested aroma blends in my class are: Yoga, Spa Spirit, and Citrus Dream!
David's Tea makes some of the most delightful teas I've ever experienced and they now have storefronts in San Francisco and New York, as well as all across Canada. My favorites include: Jessies Tea - a lavender-coconut rooibos, and Turmeric Snap - only available online but perfect for kicking the common cold to the curb and boosting your immune system.
